The OES visited Paint Creek School on October 18, 2002. We stumbled upon the school as we were driving down Selsor-Moon Road in search of the Pancake School. The Paint Creek School was likely built in the mid-to-late 1800s, possibly even as late as the early 1900s. From what we could see from the road, the one-room schoolhouse had been abandoned for quite some time. The schoolhouse seemed to be used to store hay and random junk during our visit. The front of the building was in pretty bad shape, with many bricks missing and a hole next to the door. It would not be surprising if the front wall collapsed sometime in the near future. We could not get close enough to the school to take interior photos due to several large bulls roaming the field nearby.
Location Information: Abandoned
