Below are historical photographs of Lockbourne, located in Franklin County. Lockbourne was established in 1831, around the time the Ohio-Erie Canal carved its way through Central Ohio. Many of the village’s original residents worked on the canal and supported its functions. Most of the photos below were taken in 1956, long after the canal was abandoned and railroads took its place.

The Lockbourne Farmer's Exchange, located between the railroad tacks on the edge of town, in 1956. The business is still in operation.

The Lockbourne Masonic Temple on Vause Street. The first floor windows had been boarded for years, but have been restored. The building is still in use.
