Below are historical photographs of Lockbourne, located in Franklin County. Lockbourne was established around the time the Ohio-Erie Canal carved its way through Central Ohio. Many of the original residents of the town worked on the canal and supported its functions. The photos below were taken in 1956, long after the canal was abandoned and railroads took its place.

The Lockbourne Church of Christ. We are unsure if the building still stands.
The Lockbourne Lutheran Church still stands today.
The Lockbourne Methodist Church still stands as well. It appears that there was a speaker in the belfry.
The Lockbourne Farmer's Exchange. The building is still located between the railroad tracks on the edge of town.
The Lockbourne Masonic Temple. The first floor windows are boarded today, but the building is still in use.
