The OES visited the Sullivant Land Office on August 25, 2002. Located just behind the Harrison House, the land office is where Lucas Sullivant sold and managed land in Columbus and Franklinton. This little brick building sat for a long time on Gay Street in Columbus, but was moved to its present location in 1986 to avoid demolition. The small building is owned by the City of Columbus and leased to the Franklin County Historical & Genealogical Society. The office has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973 and seemed well preserved on our visit.
