Lafayette
The Red Brick Tavern - Located on the National Road, the Red Brick Tavern is said to be haunted by the ghosts of Presidents who have stayed or eaten there. The tavern is more than 150 years old.
London
Center Street Mansion - The family who lived and died in the mansion long ago is said to haunt the house. Eerie noises can be heard, and at the strike of midnight, one can hear what sounds like a wheelchair, wheeling down the hallway. (Thanks to Jeremy and her sister for submitting this haunting)
Old Xenia Road Woods - A small patch of woods located at the intersection of Old Xenia and Roberts Mill Road, just south of London, is said to be haunted. There is also said to be a house in the woods that is haunted.
Pancake Schoolhouse - Also known as the Selsor Moon Schoolhouse, it
is said to be haunted by the ghosts of children killed in an Indian raid. Some
have reported strange lights around the area of the schoolhouse, and some have
heard voices speaking to them. The cemetery behind the school is also said to be
haunted. ![]()
State Route 29 - A small plot of land between two cornfields near the intersection of Route 29 and Route 38, just north of London, is supposed to be haunted. The area around the plot is lined with trees that lead back to a circle where a house used to stand. The house burned down years ago, killing the family while they slept. It is said that at midnight on a full moon, you can see the outline of the house standing in the middle of the trees.
Van Wagner Road - This stretch of road near Madden Higgins Road is said to be haunted by a ghostly woman wearing a white nightgown who was killed in a nearby house by her husband. The woman's ghost is known to flag down motorists and ask for help.
Wren Road House - It is said that a variety of ghosts haunt this abandoned home near Route 187.
Plain City
Plain City Lanes - This bowling alley is said to be haunted by a former owner, who is often spotted walking across the end of the lanes. The spirit once broke a mirror in the rear of the building, and is blamed for the mysterious crashes and footsteps heard upstairs by employees working the night shift.
