Bellefontaine
Camp Wilson - This 100 year-old camp is said to be haunted by numerous ghosts. The most haunted area is known as the Y tree, as there are hundreds of sightings there every year. There are two ghosts who frequent the area. One known as Abe is said to be seen on trails and roaming the grounds, wearing a stove pipe hat. Timmy is the other ghost, who can be heard giggling and running around near the railroad tracks. One of the cabins was relocated to the camp from the pioneer days. The ghost that haunts the cabin does not like men and is usually more active when men stay there. Knocking sounds can be heard on the walls and door. Some of the children who stayed there for summer camp started speaking in tongues for no reason.
Huntsville
Harrod Cemetery - The gravestone where the legendary hatchet man (see below) is buried is said to glow with an eerie light on certain nights.
Hatchet Man - The ghost of a man who twice murdered his whole family by chopping them to pieces is said to haunt the area along McArthur Township Road 56 during the night, ready to kill anyone passing through with his hatchet. He especially hates women.
Indian Lake
O'Conner's Hotel - This was an old hotel that was burned down and now the ghosts of the attendants that stayed there are said to haunt it.
Shawnee Island - A church on Shawnee Island is said to be haunted by an old lady, who sits in the front row. She has been known to look at you and then disappear.
Lakeview
255 Market Street - The building at 255 Market Street is said to be the site of unexplained sounds and sightings. These sounds and sightings may be explained now from another contributor. His grandfather passed away after a struggle with diabetes. One day his grandmother walked into the kitchen and saw the ghost of his grandfather standing before her. She said that she loved him and he disappeared. She later sold the house and moved away because of that day. (Thanks to Kodi Smotherman and Jimmy for bringing us this haunting).
Quincy
Quincy Smoke - Residents of the area experience a truly odd phenomenon every two or three weeks that has been going on for as long as anyone can remember. The entire area from Quincy to DeGraff is overtaken by a very smoky odor. It is said the odor is from the old Native American villages that were once in the area. (Thanks to Nigel Harp for submitting this haunting).
