 McConnelsville

Carrington House – The front door of this abandoned house often opens on its own. Witnesses who have attempted to photograph the house report the feeling of being pushed, as if not to take photos there.

Twin City Opera House – This old 1890s opera house in the canal town of McConnelsville is said to be haunted. The ghost of an elderly usher named Everett, who wears a white suit, is seen quite often. A ghostly woman also haunts the theater, walking on the catwalks backstage. Paranormal investigation groups have reportedly gotten excellent results at the opera house. (Credits: Ben)

Morgan County Courthouse – The door to the genealogy room is known to close by itself. The paranormal activity in the building is often attributed to a gun stores in the genealogy room. The gun was the direct cause of at least two deaths. In 1905, a man named Wood Stuart killed the town marshall, Horace Porter, with the weapon. Stuart was sent to a state mental institution after the murder. Four years later, county prosecutor Francis Parsons shot himself with the gun while in his courthouse office. The gun was then placed into the historical records section of the building, where it remains today.
