Cambridge
Colonel Taylor Bed & Breakfast – This Victorian mansion built in 1878 is haunted by Colonel Taylor and his wife. Guests have seen the Taylors’ apparitions and they seem to watch over guests like angels. Colonel Taylor walks the stairs and his wife floats down them. His tobacco smoke is often smelled in the room he frequented and mysterious footsteps are often heard. The ghosts will shake beds on occasion and cold spots appear whenever they are present.
Northwood Cemetery – A woman in a 1920s-style white formal gown haunts the cemetery on clear summer nights. She will appear and dissolve in a short time.
Helena
Route 6 Abandoned House – This house is said to be haunted by a family that was slaughtered there. Supposedly the husband killed the entire family, hanging them in the barn, before killing himself.
Kimbolton
Bell Nursing Home – This former nursing home is reportedly haunted. Doors open and close on their own, lights turn on and off, and patient room divider curtains could be heard moving in empty rooms. The patient call lights above the doorways come on by themselves. Witnesses have heard footsteps in the hallway or upstairs in the main house. Absolutely no one would be there upon investigation. One of the pianos in the former dining room occasionally plays on its own. Contractors working in the building during renovation have reported seeing figures of people moving in empty hallways. Paranormal investigators have documented and experienced a multitude of unexplained activity in the nursing home.
Londonderry Township
The Headless Man – The woods in the township are haunted by a headless man. Legend says that thieves saw the man flashing a lot of money around when he was in town. They followed him into the woods where the man lived and killed him. His horse was found days later, but his body was never found. Today his ghost wanders the woods, looking for both his head and revenge.
Old Washington
Deep Cut – This section of US Route 40, known as Deep Cut, is between Cambridge and Old Washington. It is said that one of the National Road workers was murdered for his saved paychecks. His body is supposedly buried under the road. His ghost is known to stumble out in front of motorists at night.
Horse and Carriage – A ghostly horse and carriage sometimes appear behind travelers late at night. It disappears as soon as it is spotted.
Quaker City
Route 513 Bridge – This bridge is haunted by a ghost who rides along in a carriage. He is also said to tap walkers on the shoulder. According to the legend, the ghost cannot cross the bridge.
