Slate Run Historical Farm

The OES visited Slate Run Historical Farm on June 23, 2002. Slate Run Metro Park is one of the more active parks in the Columbus area. It is the only park of its kind in Central Ohio with a complete living historical farm. It was a thrill seeing how life was lived in the 1880s, with farm animals roaming the grounds and the caretakers dressed in period clothing. There are plenty of games and activities to keep you occupied, including trying out stilts! The Gothic Revival style home used by the historical farm was built in 1856 and the barn was built in 1881. Both were fully restored to how they may have appeared and were used  in the 1880s. The farm is definitely a unique experience and is free for all to enjoy!
