The OES visited the Vietnam War Experience on August 29, 2004. The Experience is a traveling replica of the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC, that travels across the country for people to visit. The wall lists more than 58,000 servicemen and women who died or are MIA in Vietnam. We visited the eight foot nigh, 240 foot long memorial at Kingwood Memorial Park at approximately 1:45 AM. We were surprised to see how many people were there at that hour. Looking at all of the names on the wall, it was hard to imagine that all of them were actual people who were lost to war. Once one has visited the memorial, be it this replica or the one in DC, you will definitely walk away with respect to those who paid the ultimate price serving for their country.
