On this page you will find all of the structures visited by the Ohio Exploration Society, arranged alphabetically by county. We still have many structures to be uploaded so make sure to subscribe to our email updates to be notified whenever we update the site. Remember, we do not condone trespassing on any of these properties. Always seek permission before entering any private property. If you have photos of a structure that you would like to share, please submit them to , and we will post them with credit given to you. 	ATHENS RIDGES Athens County Active School This former insane asylum in Athens is now owned by Ohio University.
	KINGS HOLLOW TUNNEL Athens County Abandoned An abandoned train tunnel made of timbers near the small town of Mineral.
	NELSONVILLE BRICK PLANT Athens County Public Park This abandoned brick plant that ceased operation in the 1940s is now a park.
	GLENCOE TUNNEL Belmont County Private Property An abandoned railroad tunnel near the small village of Glencoe.
	CLIFTON SCHOOL Clark County Active Society This former school building served the once-bustling stagecoach town of Clifton.
	P.P. MAST CASTLE Clark County Restoration Pending The former residence of P.P. Mast and his family in Springfield was most recently a nursing home.
	COSHOCTON HOUSE Coshocton County Abandoned A dilapidated house down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere in Coshocton County.
	NORTH ROBINSON CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL Crawford County Abandoned This drainage tunnel that runs beneath High Street is an underground Columbus landmark.
	ROUTE 23 DELAWARE HOUSE Delaware County Demolished An abandoned home that once sat along Route 23 in Delaware County.
	HARTMAN BRIDGE Fairfield County Public Park Built in 1888, this covered bridge now stands in Lockville Park.
	LOUCKS BRIDGE Fairfield County Demolished Only remnants remain of this covered bridge, built sometime between 1850-1874.
	B&T METALS Franklin County Partially Demolished / Redevelopment In Progress Established in the 1930s, B&T Metals extruded uranium for the Manhattan Project in 1943.
	BALDWIN TOWER Franklin County Demolished Grant Hospital's Baldwin Tower was located in downtown Columbus and imploded in 2004.
	BERLINER PUMPING STATION Franklin County Demolished An abandoned sewage pumping station on the edge of Berliner Park in Columbus.
	BLOOD BOWL / GATES OF HELL Franklin County Active Drain This drainage tunnel that runs beneath High Street is an underground Columbus landmark.
	CONCORD METHODIST CHURCH Franklin County Active Business This church, now an animal hospital, is at the corner of Hoover Road and State Route 665.
	COOPER STADIUM Franklin County Abandoned Opened in 1932, Cooper Stadium was the home of several Columbus sports teams, including the Columbus Clippers.
	CSX / NORFOLK SOUTHERN TOWER Franklin County Demolished This drainage tunnel that runs beneath High Street is an underground Columbus landmark.
	DILL FARM HOUSE Franklin County Demolished Built around 1900, this farmhouse in Hamilton Township has been demolished.
	ELEVATOR BREWERY & DRAUGHT HAUS Franklin County Active Business Originally named Bott Brothers and later as The Clock, it is one of the oldest bars in Columbus.
	FRANKLINTON POST OFFICE Franklin County Abandoned Built in 1807 by David Deardurff, this was the Columbus area's first post office.
	GRANDVIEW THEATRE Franklin County Active Business Opened in 1926, the Grandview Theatre is the oldest, purpose-built movie theater still in use in Columbus.
	GREEN LAWN ABBEY Franklin County Restoration In Progress Built in 1927, the Green Lawn Abbey is the final resting place of Thurston the Magician.
	GRIGGS DAM-TENDER'S HOUSE Franklin County Public Park Built in 1816, this old dam-tender's home in Columbus has been renovated.
	GROVEPORT LOG HOUSE Franklin County Public Park Built in 1815, this log home was moved to its current location when the new post office was built.
	GROVEPORT ROAD HOUSE Franklin County Demolished Built in 1922, this home was near Obetz along Groveport Road.
	HAMILTON TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT Franklin County In Use [Storage] This small building once housed a police department, it is now used for storage.
	HARRISON HOUSE Franklin County Active Society Built in 1807, this home is believed to have been used by the Army during the War of 1812.
	HAYDEN MAUSOLEUM Franklin County Active Cemetery The final resting place of C.H. Hayden in Green Lawn Cemetery.
	HUNTINGTON MAUSOELUM Franklin County Active Cemetery This is the main mausoleum / chapel of Green Lawn Cemetery.
	LOCKBOURNE BRICK HOUSE Franklin County Renovated Built in 1900, this large brick home on the outskirts of Lockbourne has been renovated.
	MEDICAL BUILDING Franklin County Demolished This abandoned medical facility was located on Town Street in downtown Columbus.
	MOONEY'S MANSION Franklin County Private Residence Built in 1913, a mysterious legend surrounds this Clintonville home.
	OHIO NATIONAL BANK Franklin County Abandoned Built in 1911, this iconic bank in downtown Columbus served the community for 88 years.
	PARSONS SCHOOL Franklin County Demolished Built in 1960, this elementary school has been razed and replaced by a new building.
	POINDEXTER TOWER Franklin County Demolition In Progress Built in 1960, Poindexter Tower was one of the nation's first public housing projects.
	ROHR ROAD HOUSE Franklin County Demolished [Arson] Built in the mid-late 1800s, this home featured a balcony porch. Sadly it was lost to an arsonist.
	SAINT JOSEPH'S CHAPEL Franklin County Active Place of Worship This chapel, also known as Mother of Sorrows Chapel, is still used for service and funerals.
	SCIOTO TRAIL POOL Franklin County Demolished A beloved swimming pool that was built in 1960 on South High Street.
	SULLIVANT LAND OFFICE Franklin County Active Society This small building was used as Lucas Sullivant's land office during the early days of Columbus.
	SUNSET CREMATORY Franklin County Active Cemetery This large structure located in Sunset Cemetery served as a crematory.
	SWISHER BRICK HOUSE Franklin County Abandoned Built in the early 1800s, this home has been condemned and is falling apart.
	TRASH BURNING POWER PLANT Franklin County Demolished Opened in 1983, the defunct trash burning power plant of South Columbus has been destroyed.
	WESLEY CHAPEL Franklin County Active Cemetery This chapel, located in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, has three construction dates.
	WRIGHT ROAD HOUSE Franklin County Abandoned Built in 1920, this abandoned farmhouse is facing certain demolition.
	GREENDALE BRICK PLANT Hocking County Abandoned This abandoned brick plant has nearly been destroyed by the elements of time and nature.
	GREENDALE SCHOOL Hocking County Abandoned An abandoned schoolhouse that once served the small town of Greendale.
	HAYDENVILLE HOUSE Hocking County Renovated This small home in the town of Haydenville is being renovated into the town's museum.
	HAYDENVILLE TUNNEL Hocking County Abandoned This clay transportation tunnel was abandoned in the 1950s and is believed to be haunted.
	POSTONS FARM HOUSE Hocking County Abandoned This old farmhouse that sits just outside of Haydenville is supposedly built atop an Indian mound.
	SHAWNEE LOOKOUT TOWER Hocking County Public Park Built in 1939, this tower was open to the public for anyone to climb, but has been closed due to damage.
	TOLEDO WORKHOUSE Lucas County Abandoned Operated from 1918 to 1991, the Toledo House of Corrections is now part of the Blue Creek Preservation Area.
	PAINT CREEK SCHOOLHOUSE Madison County Abandoned The lesser-known old schoolhouse along Selsor Moon Road.
	PANCAKE SCHOOLHOUSE Madison County Abandoned Also known as the Selsor-Moon School, this abandoned schoolhouse is said to be haunted.
	HARDING MEMORIAL Marion County Public Park The final resting place of Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States.
	PALMER ROAD CRYBABY BRIDGE Mercer County Public Roadway This bridge over St. Mary's River may be Ohio's genuine crybaby bridge.
	JUNCTION CITY PRISON Perry County Demolished This abandoned prison was used in the filming of the 1980 movie "Brubaker."
	BLACKBURN BRIDGE Pickaway County Public Park Originally built in 1855, this covered bridge has been restored at Slate Run Park.
	M.M. CRITES OCTAGON HOUSE Pickaway County Restoration In Progress Built in 1855-56, this house near Circleville is laid out in the shape of an octagon.
	SCIOTO TOWNSHIP DISTRICT 2 SCHOOL Pickaway County Private Property Built in 1888, this schoolhouse appears to be very well preserved.
	CONCORD CHURCH Preble County Active Place of Worship Founded in 1840, this church in rural Preble County is still in use.
	DIXON - ISRAEL MIDDLE SCHOOL Preble County Demolished This school was in use during our visit, but it has since been demolished.
	ROBERTS BRIDGE Preble County Public Park Built in 1829, Roberts Bridge is Ohio's oldest covered bridge.
	OHIO STATE REFORMATORY Richland County Active Society [Tours Available] This abandoned prison has been featured in several movies and is known to be very haunted.
	SALEM EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH Richland County Abandoned Built in 1860, this abandoned place of worship sits off a gravel road in Jefferson Township.
	MAJESTIC THEATRE Ross County Active Business This theatre was used as a temporary morgue during World War I.
	MEGGENHOFFEN WINERY TUNNEL Ross County Abandoned Built in 1850, these tunnels on a Chillicothe hillside were used to store wine.
	DOCTOR'S HOSPITAL OF STARK COUNTY Stark County Abandoned Formed in 1963, the hospital closed in 2008 and is currently scheduled for demolition.
	EDWIN SHAW HOSPITAL Summit County Abandoned This former tuberculosis hospital served as a rehab center and is said to be haunted.
	HOPE FURNACE Vinton County Public Park An abandoned iron furnace near Lake Hope that is supposedly haunted by a night watchman.
	MOONVILLE TUNNEL Vinton County Public Park An abandoned and haunted railroad tunnel located deep in the Zaleski State Forest.

LAKIN INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL
West Virginia Demolished
Built in 1924, this building was a juvenile jail for African-Americans.
