Thanks to the anonymous website visitor for
sending in photos of the haunted pool room of Stivers Middle School in
Montgomery County. In the 1920s, there was a
teacher who swam the pool every Friday. Her body was found floating face down in
the pool with a broken pointer in one hand and a locket in the other. One photo
was of her parents and the second of a man, but the head was torn off the photo.
It was thought that the teacher had an affair with her senior aide, who never
returned. The pool was built over in the 1930s and returned to classrooms.
I attend Stivers, and the
class where the pool is, that's the photography class. In the
photography class, the trap door to the pool is on the way to
the dark room where we print photos, (ironic). One day I
convinced my teacher to let my small class explore the pool.
Once we got down there, it was so freezing cold! And there were
spider webs everywhere, just like the classic horror movie
setting. I was prepared with a flashlight and camera. I really
did feel Ms. Tyler (the ghost's name). In fact, I saw orbs on a
couple pictures I took. Later in the year, we had a Halloween
party and somebody brought in a Ouija board. Ms. Tyler was there
and she said that there was indeed an affair with her senior
aide.
