Garnett Wilson Library – Contribution

05/02/2005: Thanks to Mike Hawk for submitting this story about the experience he and his friends shared at the Garnett Wilson Library, located in Pike County. Mike described seeing the ghost of an elderly woman, who was reading a book, as he emerged from an elevator only to see her disappear before his eyes.

Me and my buddies were riding the elevator down to the Kid’s Book Room when we heard an old woman talking. We looked around the corner and there was a woman that looked like she was in her late seventies. She had her hair pulled up in a bun and was wearing an old red dress down to her ankles and black shoes. You could see straight through her. She had an old book and a handkerchief in her hand. When we saw her, she paused and looked at us for about 5 seconds and all of a sudden, she just faded away. After that, we scrambled up to the main desk and told the woman on duty what happened. She told us that we weren’t the first people to give her reports on the same occurrence that week.
