Electronic Voice Phenomenon
What exactly is Electronic Voice Phenomenon, or EVP for short, you ask? No one knows exactly what causes EVP, but a common theory is that EVPs are voices from beyond the grave that can be recorded on modern equipment, such as microcassette recorders, camcorders, and digital voice recorders. Potential for capturing a ghostly voice on tape exists just about anywhere with an extensive history. Anyone can try to record for EVPs and will eventually get results. See our EVP Tips Page for more on making your own recordings. The list below is a collection of all of the EVPs that we have recorded while on our explorations and paranormal investigations. Some are clear voices, some are whispers, and others are just sound. One of the common problems with EVP is that two different people may hear two different things. Carefully listen for anything that sounds out of place, such as whispers and hard-to-make-out words. If you hear something other than what the EVP is described as, please email with your translation of the voice. These files may take a few moments to load depending on your connection speed. You will need a Flash player to listen to these EVP recordings. Get the latest version of Adobe Flash Player here.
