What is Electronic Voice Phenomenon, or EVP for short, you ask? No one knows the exact cause of EVPs but a common theory is that they are voices from beyond the grave, recorded on modern equipment such as microcassette recorders, camcorders and digital voice recorders. Potential for capturing an EVP in a recording exists just about anywhere with an extensive history. Anyone can try to record for electronic voice phenomenon and will eventually get results. The list below is a collection of all of the EVPs that the OES has recorded during explorations and paranormal investigations or sent to us by contributors. Simple click the location to listen to the EVPs recorded there. Some are clear voices, some are whispers and others are just sound. One of the common problems with EVP is that two people may hear completely different things. Carefully listen for anything that sounds out of place, such as whispers and hard to make out words.
