General Information
The OES visited the Paint Creek Schoolhouse on October 18, 2002. We stumbled upon the school as we were driving down Selsor-Moon Road looking for the Pancake Schoolhouse. The school was probably built in the mid to late 1800s, possibly even as late as the early 1900s. From what we could tell from the road, the school was a one room schoolhouse and has been abandoned for quite some time. It is now being used to store hay and some junk. The structure is in pretty bad shape and it probably wouldn't be a surprise if the whole thing will collapse in on itself in the near future. We could not get close enough to the school to take inside photos because there were bulls roaming the field adjacent to the building, and there were no gates or fences separating them from the school.
