Elmore
Headless Motorcyclist - A bridge near the end of a driveway is said to be haunted by the ghost of a World War One Veteran. Upon his return from the war, he found that his lover had another man. In a furious rage, the man jumped on his motorcycle and drove off wildly down a winding road. He wrecked either on the bridge, or shortly after it, and was killed. His head and the headlamp of the bike were never found. Since then, his ghost returns when a single car parks on the far side of the bridge from the farmhouse. It's said that if you stand on the bridge at the exact right time, he will injure you as he passes. If you stand to the side, he'll pass you by.
Marblehead
Old Stone House Bed and Breakfast - Toilets have been heard flushing on the third floor. A television on the third floor repeatedly is turned down after the volume has been turned up. Room 11 is said to be haunted by a little girl who fell out of the window, three stories to her death. She often appears as a white mist. The fireplace on the first floor has been known to have burning embers after a period of time when no one was there. Feelings of being watched are common in the basement.
Johnson's Island Cemetery - This site was a Union Prison Camp, where many Confederate soldiers died and were buried. The prison was only supposed to handle 1,000 prisoners, but it had held up to 15,000 at one time. It has been rumored that you can sometimes hear the gunshots followed by the screams of agony from the soldiers. Every other year, when the Memorial Day parade is held on the island, some have reported seeing the ghostly soldiers joining in during the parade.
Port Clinton
Dead Dog Island - This marshy area is where local authorities would rid themselves of dead animals and trash. When a home was built near the swamp, an elderly gentleman warned the family that the spirits of the animals would be angered. A short time later, the house mysteriously burned to the ground. A pack of wolves kept firefighters from reaching the house.
