12/22/2004    Four mysterious videos were uploaded to the Stories & Contributions page of the Hauntings Section. The videos were sent to us by a website visitor named Billy. He captured these odd images on his webcam. If you have any idea what the video shows, you may email and we will pass along the information.

12/21/2004    Added a new online store, the Paranormal Investigator store. Check out all of the stores and stop by to make a purchase today!

12/18/2004    Early today our server crashed and the hard drive failed. That is why some of you who tried visiting today could not get to the website. Luckily our host makes back-ups every day and was able to restore the entire website. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

12/16/2004    The OES is now officially offering paranormal investigations to property owners who are experiencing paranormal phenomenon. If you would like an investigation conducted on your property, please visit the Paranormal Investigation Form to submit your request.

11/14/2004    New updates for you today. The first is for the Moonville Tunnel. During an investigation last month, the OES and a documentary crew experienced something truly unexplainable. It includes ghostly running, temperature drops, and odd smells. Visit the Moonville Tunnel page to read more. Added to the Hospital/Medical section of Structures is the Edwin Shaw Hospital. The hospital is known to be haunted by those who died there.

11/01/2004    Hopefully everyone had a very frightful Halloween weekend. Just in case you did not get scared enough, here's some new spooky material for you to enjoy. Hauntings have been added to Butler, Franklin, Henry, Lawrence, Ottawa, Pike, Summit and  Warren Counties. Photos of Grove City Cemetery have been uploaded to the Average Cemeteries section; an apparition appear in one of the photos. And to top everything off, a new EVP has been added to the EVP Recordings Page. It is from the State of Ohio Library in Columbus.

10/17/2004    A new article has been added to the Media Section. The OES was mentioned in this About.com article about Central Ohio Hauntings. Click Here to read the article. And to go with this article, a new batch of hauntings. This round hauntings include Coshocton, Franklin, Holmes, Muskingum, Putnam, and Wayne Counties. Two new EVPs have been added to the EVP Recordings Page. They are from Old Agudas Achim Cemetery and Berliner Park in Franklin County.

10/10/2004    Two days later and more hauntings have been added. Counties included in this update are Butler, Clark, Columbiana, Darke, Franklin, Highland, Holmes, Lucas, Pickaway, Stark, Washington, Wayne, and Williams. Several new stories have been placed online as well including Club Bijou, Hale Farm and Village, Lick Road, Mound Cemetery, Nashville Cemetery, Schrader Road Tunnel, Water Street Residence, and Woodgate Road Ouija.

10/08/2004    The website has been updated with some spooky material today. Hauntings have been added to Ashland, Ashtabula, Belmont, Butler, Gallia, Greene, Hamilton, Holmes, Knox, Lawrence, Logan, Lucas, Muskingum, Ross, Stark, and Wayne Counties. We also have three new eyewitness stories online. They include the Bethel Cemetery, Trebein Road, and the Higby House. Don't worry though, we still have many more hauntings to come for the haunted month of October.

09/22/2004    The Glen Echo Park has been added to the Parks & Fields Section. New hauntings have been added to the following counties: Franklin, Hamilton, Lorain, Trumbull, and Wood. There are plenty more hauntings to upload before Halloween, so stay tuned!

09/11/2004    Added an EVP Recordings section to Hauntings that lists all of the EVPs on the website on one page.

09/06/2004    The miscellaneous menu has been changed to include four separate sections; Transportation, Times of War, Towns / Cities, and Other Stuff. Photos from the Vietnam Experience has been added to the Times of War section. The Elevator Restaurant & Brewery was added to the Hotels & Restaurants section of structures.

08/24/2004    The conversion of the OES website is complete! All pages have been updated to the new style, so look for some brand new material coming soon. Also, if you haven't already, please check the Jacob J Woodgerd page. Any donations to the family will be greatly appreciated.

08/11/2004    Progress in converting every page has continued, but there is still plenty to do. The new content added today is a newly discovered article mentioning the Ohio Exploration Society from Muskingum College's paper, Black & Magenta. 08/02/2004    Updates have been made daily for the past few days, converting many more pages to the new style. However, there is some new content today. Five new EVPs have been added to the Green Lawn Abbey page; pretty creepy stuff, make sure to check it out.

07/29/2004    As you probably have noticed by now, the Ohio Exploration Society's website has undergone its fourth renovation since its existence. All of the menu pages and the main page have been converted to the new style. All other pages on the website will be converted throughout the next few weeks. We've added a link to Ohio Paranormal, a joint operation between paranormal investigators and the OES, on the main page of the site. If you would like to have a paranormal investigation done on your property, link through to the Ohio Paranormal site and send them an email. New material will be added soon and there are plenty of hauntings to be posted, stay tuned!

07/12/2004    Another hauntings update today. Counties included in this round are Athens, Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clinton, Cuyahoga, Darke, Geauga, Greene, Henry, Highland, Huron, Lake, Lawrence, Licking, Lorain, Lucas, Miami, Montgomery, Muskingum, Portage, Richland, Ross, Scioto, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Van Wert, Wayne, and Unknown.

07/09/2004    Hauntings have been added to Athens, Auglaize, Butler, Clermont, Cuyahoga, Erie, Fairfield, Franklin, Hamilton, Mahoning, Medina, Perry, Stark, Warren, and Unknown Counties. A video has been added to the Safety Section as a  reminder to always use caution if you decide to explore an abandoned building.

06/20/2004    The Small Cemeteries Section was updated today with the additions of Hoover Hill Cemetery and Hendren Cemetery. Hayden Falls has been added to the Parks & Fields Section. There are now six online stores, so make sure to pay at least one a visit today!

06/15/2004    A very small update today. Added the Groveport Interurban to the Miscellaneous section and added a haunting to Ashland County. A larger update will be coming soon, so stay tuned.

05/25/2004    Added more hauntings today. Counties updated are Cuyahoga, Greene, Hamilton, Lucas, Madison, Miami, Muskingum, and Portage. Also added some photos to the Grant Hospital's Baldwin Tower page.

05/09/2004    Video of Grant Hospital's Baldwin Tower implosion has been added to the Hospitals/Medical Facilities section of Structures. Pictures of the tower previous to it's destruction will be uploaded soon.

04/18/2004    New hauntings have been added to Columbiana and Muskingum counties, but there are still many more hauntings to come. There is a new visitor submitted story about Elisabeth's Grave on the Stories Section, very weird stuff going on. Also updated information in regards to the MM Crites Octagon House.

04/17/2004    Updated the Houses/Homes Section of Structures with the Griggs Dam-Tender's House. The Schools/Colleges Section of Structures has been updated with the Scioto Township District No.2 Schoolhouse. The Meggenhofen Winery Tunnel was added to the Tunnels/Bridges Section of Structures. And last, but not least, Ashville Cemetery was added to the Small Cemeteries Section. Stay tuned for more updates!

03/23/2004    Updated the Average Cemeteries Section with Paint Creek Memorial Cemetery. The next few updates will round up our trips from 2002 and we have plenty more from 2003-04!!

03/21/2004    All forms and the search engine are back online! As it turns out, our FrontPage Extensions became corrupt on the server side. The Extensions have been reinstalled and everything is now operational.

03/16/2004    For the third day in a row, the OES site has been updated. Added today is a clip from Twentieth Century Fox's 1980 movie "Brubaker" to the Junction City Prison page. The video shows the prison as it appeared nearly 25 years ago when the movie was filmed.

03/15/2004    The Moonville Tunnel page has been updated today. A bluegrass song entitled "Moonville Brakeman", by The Rarely Herd, was uploaded to the page. Many thanks to The Rarely Herd for giving the OES permission to post their song.

03/14/2004    The OES was mentioned on Coast to Coast AM With Art Bell on February 7, 2004. The show was discussing EVPs and playing them on-the-air. 03/03/2004    A little update today. The Pancake Schoolhouse (AKA Selsor-Moon Schoolhouse) has been uploaded to the Schools/Colleges section of Structures. Also uploaded the Pancake Cemetery to the Small Cemeteries section of Cemeteries. The two sites added today go hand-in-hand, and are said to be haunted. All forms are currently down. For some reason, they keep asking for a username and password. We're working with our host to get this issue resolved.

02/29/2004    Updated the hauntings section today with a new submitted story. Counties included in the hauntings update include Adams, Butler, Columbiana, Darke, Delaware, Franklin, Hamilton, Licking, Lorain, Miami, Portage, and Union. The Medical Building in downtown Columbus and the Paint Creek Schoolhouse have been added to the Structures Section. The Scioto-Strader Cemetery and the Williamsville Cemetery have been added to the Average Cemeteries Section. A video taken at the Moonville Tunnel during a 2002 OES trip has been added. The video shows an unknown object floating around the camera. Added a link to the Scioto Spirit Seekers and Ghost Roads of Ohio websites to the links section.

01/27/2004    A small update to the website today. Added a few more photos of the Shawnee Lookout Tower that we took in July of last year. Our next update will be a big one with more hauntings, new structures, and some cemeteries.

01/17/2004    The Ohio Exploration Society was recently mentioned in a newspaper article about the abandoned/haunted cement factory in Ironton. On January 5, 2004, writer Michael Caldwell with The Ironton Tribune published the article in the paper. Many thanks to him, and Thomas Wilson (who told us about the article). 01/04/2004    Happy New Year!! Our first update of 2004 does not include any new material. All of the alternate navigation menus have been changed to allow more accurate navigation. The haunting from East Rushville in Unknown Counties was moved to Fairfield County thanks to information provided by a website visitor.
