This investigation was conducted at the Athens Ridges in Athens, Ohio on January 29, 2005.
General Information
A gentleman who occupied one of the graduate art studios in the building contacted the OES about paranormal activity that he had experienced. The experiences included seeing figures walking down the hallway from his studio out of the corner of his eye when no one else was present; hearing music near the elevator that vanished upon returning to the location moments later; and seeing the figure of a man wearing a black coat in the reflection of the men's restroom mirror. A maintenance worker who was interviewed upon our arrival told of several places where he had experienced paranormal activity. The workers experiences included both seeing and interacting with shadowy figures in the former activities area, along with witnessing the apparition of a woman wearing a yellow dress standing in a doorway in the same area. The OES toured the studios and the remainder of the accessible area.

Paranormal / Unusual Activity
During the tour of the basement area, an EVP was recorded stating, "Would you help us?" While in a room that was formerly a padded cell, a scream was recorded on audio equipment, but was not heard by those present.
During the investigation, the team split into two crews. Jason C. and MJ reported to an area known as the "Blue Tile Room" on the art studio floor. Many people who have entered the room report uncomfortable feelings. Jason C. took temperature readings, finding a cold spot located in the corner of the room. Jason R. and Abe reported to the restroom where the reflection had been witnessed. No results showed up on video or in photographs taken in the restroom. Jason R. and Abe then reported to the area in the hallway where music could sometimes be heard. The two tested the acoustics of the hallway finding that one could hear someone speaking on the first floor landing from the top of the flight of stairs. Sounds could also travel through the vent just above the location where music could sometimes be heard. While this does not discount reports of hearing the mysterious music, it is still notable.
The two crews combined back to one team and a final tour of the accessible areas of the building was conducted, retrieving all equipment. The total time of this investigation was approximately four hours.
