Dead Man's Hollow - In 1836, Daniel Bender, his brother-in-law, and two other men traveled west from Pennsylvania to start a new home in Crawford County. However, the two men came along with another intention, to rob and murder Daniel and his brother-in-law. They attempted to do just that, robbing and killing Daniel, but the brother-in-law managed to escape. Daniel's ghost is said to haunt the spot where he died. Horses will not tread near the area and the Daniel's ghost is said to give words of warning to those passing by. He told one man taking his sick child to the doctor that the child wouldn't live, he was right.
