| The OES visited the Coshocton House on
December 17, 2006. Located in the woods along a dirt road in the
middle of nowhere, this house was likely built in the
early 1900s. Much of the house has collapsed and is unsafe to enter,
almost looking as if it was hit by a tornado. Bullet holes riddle
parts of the exterior, probably from a hunter's bad aim. We've been
told that the home was used as a shelter to hunters for years, so it
has apparently stood abandoned for years. The ground surrounding the
home is littered with old bottles and pieces of metal or machinery.
We are not quite sure of the location of the house as we were led
down winding, dirt roads to visit the location. If you have more
information on this house, please email . |

The Coshocton House as seen from the dirt road. As you approach the home, you can see it is in disrepair. The entire back side of the house has collapsed. You can see that the back side is unsafe to enter. Half of the roof is gone, but most of the walls here are still standing. Debris spewing from the inside of the house. This may have been the living room at one time. A doorway leading back to a bedroom perhaps. You can see the chimney has fallen as well. Much of the ceiling has fallen to the ground. Another view of the collapsed chimney and doorway to the back room. Most of the porch has been torn away. The back door into what could have been the kitchen. This could have been the kitchen. A view of the kitchen wall. Notice the old beams of the floor. A couple of rooms that no longer exist. There was a second floor, but this is as close as we could get to it. As you can see, the stairway looked pretty hazardous. Another look at part of the second floor. The collapsed back rooms. A doorway with debris surrounding it. Perhaps hundreds of glass bottles littered the ground just outside the house. Some sort of old machinery. Rabbit ears...how could they have ever picked up a signal?!
