General Information
The OES visited the Berliner Park Treatment Plant on August 26, 2007. Located on the back side of Berliner Park, this abandoned treatment plant is owned by the City of Columbus. There is a large sign posted just behind a gate naming the facility "City of Columbus Trucked Waste Disposal Site" with hours posted. What exactly this means and what the place was used for, we do not know. Berliner Park itself sits on an old landfill. Perhaps these buildings were used then? There are several buildings on the site, all are overgrown with vegetation and the interiors have been heavily vandalized. A couple of buildings appear to be older than others, but all were probably constructed in the early-mid 1900s. It appears that some of the site may still be used for storage, but it could just be things left behind. If you have more information about this plant, please email .
