General Information
The OES visited the Ashville Cemetery on June 19, 2003. This is a fairly small cemetery, probably dating back to the 1830s when Ashville was founded. Many of the stones are in good condition, but some have seen their share of weathering and vandalism. The oldest tombstone that we were able to find dated back to 1835, belonging to Catherine Hott. Her husband Jacob was a soldier in the War of 1812. Civil War soldiers were also buried here. As far as we can tell, this cemetery may still be active.
